A Restorative Dentist Who Cares about Your Unique Needs

Dental Implants are the best replacement of a missing tooth or teeth. They provide you with a stable platform that allows for many different prosthetic options. Once Dr. Frederick Hoffer or Dr. Silton places the titanium implants into the planned site, the fixture will become a permanent part of your jawbone. Once healing takes place and the implant has fixated to the bone, we can then place the prosthetic restoration of choice. This could be a stand-alone crown, bridge, or even full denture. Dr. Hoffer or Dr. Silton will use our GALILEOS cone beam 3D x­ray, along with CEREC® imaging, to determine the best placement for your implants. In some cases, he can place same­day restorations. If you are not a candidate for same­day teeth, he will still provide some kind of temporary restorations while your gums heal around the posts.

Dental crowns may be the optimal way to repair and strengthen your damaged teeth. Dr. Hoffer or Dr. Silton will use precise technology to make sure that your crowns look highly natural and fit comfortably in your mouth. In most cases, they will use CEREC® technology to provide same­day crowns. In some cases where multiple front teeth are being changed, the doctors will advise you to wear provisional restorations for a small period of time. This allows us to check on precise fit, function, and esthetics to your approval before moving to final restorations.

A full mouth reconstruction is a completely customized treatment. You will be able to select several procedures to replace missing teeth and restore your overall oral health. Dr. Hoffer and Dr. Silton will help you plan your treatment with extreme precision. They will use digital x-rays and photos to gain a complete picture of your teeth, jaw, and surrounding structures. They can even use the Snap-On Smile® to show you how your teeth will look and feel after treatment. They encourage you to be an informed participant throughout the entire planning process.

Dental bridges are used to fill in the spaces left by missing teeth. We offer both traditional crown-supported and advanced implant-supported bridges. In most cases, we will use our CEREC® system to create the restorations here in the office. In other cases, we may work with a dental lab to provide IPS e.max® bridges. This material is extremely strong, and is especially suited for molars. If you need extra stability, we can also provide crowns with a noble metal base.

We offer several types of dentures. Each type is designed for maximum durability and an incredibly lifelike appearance. Traditional dentures are removable, and are secured to your gums with an adhesive and natural suction. If you choose this type of denture, we will craft it so that it can be converted into an implant-supported restoration in the future, if desired. Implant-supported dentures offer more stability than traditional restorations. Dr. Hoffer or Dr. Silton will determine the right placement for your implant restoration, based on your unique needs.

If you have a cavity, a filling will stop bacteria from spreading while strengthening the outer part of your tooth. At Redlands Family Dentistry, we only use tooth-colored fillings. Composite resin will preserve the natural shade of your smile and form a strong bond with your tooth. If you have a very large cavity, your dentist may recommend an inlay or onlay. These restorations are typically made with a combination of Lava™ porcelain and composite.

Also referred to as Indirect fillings, an inlay fits into the prepared space left after a cavity or old filling has been removed while an onlay sits on the tooth and builds up its shape. Inlays and onlays arrest often made from a tooth-colored ceramic or porcelain material. They are also produced using CAD/CAM technology and can be completed in one appointment utilizing. Generally inlays and onlays are more durable and far out-last fillings.
